Privacy Policy

Overview

Dopamine Detox: Focus Reset (“the app”) helps you cut back on high-stimulation habits such as short-form video, social media or doomscrolling: you choose the habits and a plan length, check in once a day, use an urge timer when a craving hits, and track your progress. It is built to be private by design: everything you record stays on your iPhone. We do not operate an account system, we do not run a server that stores your check-ins, and we do not sell or share your personal data with anyone.

Data We Collect

We do not collect your personal data. The information you enter in the app — the habits you chose to cut back on, your plan and its length, daily check-ins and slips, urges you logged and resisted, the times they happened, reflections and notes, lesson progress, reminder times and your settings — is written to storage on your device (a local SQLite database and local app storage) and is never transmitted to us.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device. There is no account, no login, no cloud backup and no cross-device sync. Your data is included in your device backups only if you have enabled iCloud or encrypted local backups for your iPhone — those backups are controlled by Apple and by your own device settings, not by us. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device.

Analytics & Advertising

The app contains no analytics SDK, no tracking SDK and no advertising. We do not build profiles of you, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not use your data for advertising purposes. The app does not read your Screen Time data or monitor how you use other apps; it only knows what you tell it.

Reminders

If you turn on daily reminders, the app asks iOS for permission to show notifications and schedules them locally on your device. These are local notifications only — no push notification service is involved and no reminder data leaves your iPhone. You can turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

Third-Party Services

The app relies on only two third parties, and neither one receives your habit data:

• Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and subscriptions, and TestFlight for beta builds. Apple processes your purchase and handles billing, trials, renewals and cancellations under its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details.
• Superwall — the paywall and subscription SDK that decides which offer to show and keeps your purchase state in sync. It receives an anonymous device identifier and your purchase and subscription events, used only to make the app’s paid features work (app functionality). It does not receive the habits you chose, your check-ins, urges, reflections or any other content from the app.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights & Control

Because your data never leaves your device, you are already in full control of it. You can edit your plan, change or remove habits, and reset your progress in the app, or delete the app to remove its local data entirely. We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. If you contact us for support, we will only have the information you choose to include in your message.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date, and continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
